Philip Seccombe

Welcome

Having been reselected to stand for the Brailes Ward, I hope you will elect me as your Councillor at the District Council Elections on 6 May 2010.

As your Councillor for the last 8 years, I have worked closely with the Parish Councils, residents and other Authorities to improve the quality of life in the Ward;

I consider myself very fortunate to live in South Warwickshire, formerly in Shipston-on-Stour and now in Tysoe. During that time I have worked in Banbury, Kineton and Shipston as a Chartered Surveyor. I founded my own successful business in 1988 and have two offices employing local people. Surveying is a profession which is about listening to clients needs and providing them with impartial and common sense advice - one of the skills required of politicians. The business continues to flourish and is well respected in South Warwickshire.

For the last 30 years, I have been a member of the Stratford-on-Avon Conservative Association and contested elections in the 1980's and 1990's prior to being elected to Stratford District Council in 2002. This has been a rewarding experience and I have served on the Cabinet and chaired the Audit and South Area Committees.

The Conservative Association has played a big part in my life, ranging from the Tysoe Branch Chairman to Shipston District Chairman and then Deputy Chairman (Political) and Chairman of the Stratford-on-Avon Conservative Association for the last three years.

For 25 years, I served in the Territorial Army, commanding my regiment and retiring as Deputy Commander of the West Midlands Brigade as a Colonel. I joined the Warwickshire Yeomanry Squadron and now have the great honour of being the Honorary Colonel.

I will listen to and represent residents and local businesses.
